Our Politicians, Their Families, Their Constituencies - versus YOU, and YOUR HAPPINESS

I felt like laughing hysterically when I read this boxed comment from Sushma Swaraj of the BJP:

If a politician cannot look after his family, he cannot look after his constituency.

We in India have so many of these "political families" looking after themselves - and, as for their constituencies, like Amethi or Rae Bareilly or Birbhum - these are all what Englishmen would have called "rotten boroughs."

In politics, looking after your relatives is called "nepotism" - a phenomenon rife in socialist India.

There is NOTHING within this socialist The State that actually "looks after the people" - and even the police only look after VIPs. Which is "them."

All their "welfare" is designed for the benefit of the bureaucracy - which is why so many of these tax-parasites are on Sonia's "National Advisory Council."

All their "inflationism" is also designed for those who benefit from bloated budgets. Tax-parasitism writ large.

Now, let me turn to YOU - and how YOU can look after YOURSELF.

Remember the old formula: dharma, artha, kama, moksha.

Artha - or "wealth" - can only be earned in a Free Market.

Liberty - and Property, of course.

These are what YOU need.

Liberty - from the State, which means from the police.

Property - which no one can violate, not even the Head of State.

King of your own Castle.

Homesteading - the "Lockean Principle" applied to unowned lands - will get you there. "Collective ownership" of everything won't.

You will also need Private Money - zero inflation.

Then, your Precious Capital will be preserved in value.

And civilisation will progress.

When you have all these, you can look for kama - and then, you can look after your OWN FAMILY.

Sounds better than socialism, what?

Self-Help.

Liberty!

Take your welfare - and SHOVE IT!

Now, happiness is a "subjective" matter - which is what separates Carl Menger from Leon Walras and William Stanley Jevons.

Value lies within your own mind.

I would throw away a ton of gutka even if it was given to me free - but many pay for it, because their minds value it.

So, to be happy also requires Liberty - and Free International Trade - because each and every INDIVIDUAL mind seeks happiness in different ways.

The ends all differ - and lie within each mind - but the "means" are what the Science of Economics is all about.

Liberty - that is the "means" for the happiness of all.

Of course, you will have to look after your own city or town, where your property is located, and where you buy and sell - so good mayors will have to be found by the good folk of each and every city and town.

Local knowledge.

Local politics.

Not Laputa.
