There are no shops "selling work" in any market anywhere in the World. Because no one "buys work."
And there are lots of classifieds as well as websites that "buy work." Because everyone is willing to "sell work."
Why?
Because Work Is Disutility.
We perform onerous work only if we receive some "wage" - which is where the "utility" lies. Of course, the money is just a "medium of exchange" - and the actual, real utility lies in all the goodies we buy with that money. This is why Free International Trade matters. Only then does the hard working wage earner become King - as a consumer.
Manmohan Singh, PhD (Economics) Cambridge, is spending helluva lot of moolah on "creating work." That too, in the vacant countryside. "Rural jobs."
Where is the moolah coming from?
From us - the taxpayers. Even the poorest pay taxes - indirect taxes.
He is also indulging in inflationary finance.
Taxation is "expropriation." And inflationary finance is "plunder."
So, wee the people have opened a shop that "sells work."
And we are also willingly shelling out extra taxes so that Manmohan Singh can "teach all the children" COMPULSORILY.
Far out!
"Work Creation" by governments are another example of Bastiat's "Broken Window Fallacy." This is perhaps the one essay of his that qualifies as "sheer genius," and it is called "What is Seen and What is Not Seen." You can read it here.
So, we all "see" the District Spender (no longer a "collector") "employing" lots of ditch-diggers and paying them - and we think this is "good for the economy" because the money will circulate, and all "demand will rise."
What is "not seen" is where the money has come from - and the FACT that if the taxpayer had kept the money to himself, the same amount of employment would have occurred; further, this employment would have occurred in industries that would have "satisfied needs." So, instead of digging useless ditches all over the countryside, taxpayers might have spent on beer.

In addition, "rural jobs" are NONSENSE. The very idea is CRAZY.
Villagers have been MIGRATING en masse to CITIES for decades only because all jobs are in the cities.
And, in all the cities, and in all the towns, we have these PREDATORY MUNICIPALITIES.
"Committee Aaa Gayee" and all that.
Urban Job Destruction - by tax-paid employees of the very same State.
Faaar Out!
Of course, their idea is "political": The Vote Motive.
It is leading to the "politicization of village life" - as political factions form and compete for these funds.
Disorder.
Now, all "welfare" is CONSUMED. Not a single penny is INVESTED.
This is CAPITAL CONSUMPTION - the Highway to De-Civilisation. This is why there are NO HIGHWAYS in India. This is why we pay TOLLS on all NHAI highways - which is "double taxation."
When Manmohan Singh sings "My Way" you can be sure it is NOT The Highway.
The progress of civilisation depends on Capital Accumulation.
Cities are FIXED CAPITAL - as are roads, streets, footpaths, and highways.
Cities have BIG MARKETS - and trade between cities, and between cities and their surrounds, requires TRANSPORTATION. Profits are maximised when goods are bought where they are cheap - like apples in Kulu - and sold where they are dear - in Bombay, for example, where no apples grow.
TRANSPORTATION.
This is why The Open Sea is so extremely vital for Prosperity. It is a Gift From God - and we have a 2500-mile coastline. We are WASTING the Open Sea. We are failing as consumers - and our hard-earned wages are being spent on crappy swadeshi stuff.
And we have opened millions of shops to "sell jobs" in the completely vacant countryside - where there are NO CUSTOMERS.
Even a tea-shop cannot succeed in a village.
Far Out, indeed.
We need to URBANISE AGGRESSIVELY - and DUMP "rural development," another completely loony Gandhian idea.
We need to accumulate capital, save it, and invest it: cities, roads, streets, footpaths, highways, and all that.
Manmohan Singh PhD (Economics) Cambridge, is headed the wrong way.
He is a DISECONOMIST.
Anyway, socialists who hate Property and want to "acquire" or "nationalise" whatever belongs to others are BARBARIANS.
UNCIVILISED.
Civilisation means markets, cities, civility, manners, politeness, culture...
So, Manmohan Singh PhD (Economics) Cambridge is DESTROYING INDIA.
