Our socialist, centralised The State has a "policy" on anything and everything - yet, the whole country is a mess. There is a "housing policy" - and over 50 percent of our urban population lives in slums. There is an "automobile policy" - and over 90 percent of public transportation is handled by auto-rickshaws, tuk-tuks and the like, none of which can be accurately called "automobiles." There is a "forest policy" - and our forests and our tigers are being wiped out. There is "environmental policy" - and there is dirt and filth everywhere, including the Ganga and the Yamuna. We have "energy policy" - and most people cook using firewood and cow dung cakes. We have a "health policy" - and people drink hooch, eat gutka, smoke bidis... "Food policy" is nothing but a SICK JOKE: complete "pork barrel politics." And what can be said about "monetary policy" when inflation charges at over 14 per cent annually and The State is actually borrowing 3,50,000 crore rupees (1 crore is 10 million) from us.
Labour policy, land policy, health policy, liquor policy, agriculture policy, trade policy, fertiliser policy, foreign policy - each of these are destructive as well as counter-productive.
This is because socialism is "anti-social" - as just discussed.
This is also "interventionism."
Daulatabad-upon-the-Sea will be very different. There, we will practice Pure Capitalism or Poonjiwadi - which means laissez faire, in which each Individual is the Sole Proprietor of his own poonji, and will be perfectly free to speculate with it, without any interference.
Property, Liberty, Justice, Roads, Footpaths, A Great City, An Efficient Private Port, etc. These will be what Daulatabad-upon-the-Sea will be all about.
So, our "automobile policy" will be to encourage automobile ownership - and that means "four wheels for all": the title of my brief monograph. We will import used as well as crashed modern cars, buses and trucks from the West, from Japan and Singapore, repair them - and these will be sold to our garib people. No auto-rickshaws; no tuk-tuks; no pygmy trucks and buses. Excellent roads and highways, of course, with an emphasis on SAFETY. And TORTS in case of accidents. Happy?
Housing has been discussed.
On forestry: As discussed under housing, "unowned" forest lands will be "homesteaded." Wildlife will become a "resource": you can breed and sell wild animals - wild boar, venison, pheasants, quail, rabbits, etc. Timber farming will be a huge industry: sandalwood, rosewood, mahogany, ebony, teak... all these can be grown easily in this area. No "policy" other than Private Property.
Environment: As discussed under healthcare, the emphasis in Daulatabad-upon-the-Sea will be on CLEANLINESS - and the City will be kept clean. Thus, every effort will be made to keep the beaches and the great river clean. In both cases, TORTS will apply: so, if you dirty Property you will pay. If this is strictly applied, no one will dirty anything, for a strong financial disincentive will apply.
Trade: There will be a "unilateral free trade policy" because Capitalism is a system in which the Consumer is the King. This can only happen with Free Competition - in which all foreigners are free to enter.
Foreign Policy: Since we will practice free trade as well as free immigration (because we welcome "knowledge" from overseas) we will DISCOURAGE embassies and ambassadors. We will practice open trade relations and free mobility - and thus save our resources on our own needs, instead of frittering them away on wasteful embassies abroad. The emphasis will be on Peace - internal as well as external. And the chief method of achieving this is the Politics of the Market. Not what is happening today: The Politics of States and their Diplomats.
Money and Banking: Our money will be gold and silver coins and the monetary unit will be legally defined in terms of these. Paper notes will have to redeemable on demand - or else. Banking will be free - based on Contract: the Deposit Contract and the Loan Contract. Simple. Honest. Deflationary.
Much has been discussed already: taxation; education; the law; civic management; culture, civil society and tourism; and much more.
Yes, we must build a better place for ourselves than these great big Garibabads all our screwed-up socialists have built.
